Music in Video games do not stop here. Once the media gets their hand on games, they combine with the gaming industry and now there are celebrities with their own video games (i.e. 50 Cent's BulletProof), celebrity voice overs, and even full video games devoted to selling the songs of popular artist (e.g; Rockband, Band hero, Dance Dance Revolution). Video game music has even been integrated within popular hip hop. For Example Charles Hamilton, the up and coming artist from Brooklyn, New York has used a sample from a very popular video game saga. Hear What Im Playing? Pt. 1
We often hear about new technological developments in digital graphics within games, but what about what we hear? The sound effects and music involved within games are just important as the gameplay itself! Although we tend to take the acoustic portion of our gaming for granted, it is the sound effects and music from the game that motivates many gamers during gameplay. Gamers count on sound to estimate when certain scenes or actions will partake, which could be a signal towards the boss level or a melody of accomplishment.
