Two recent gaming related deaths [trigger warnings]

[An article from Borderhouse, http://borderhouseblog.com/?p=3119]

This article fits so perfectly with this week's topic, which is Risk of playing game and dangerous part of our mind.

First article, that lady from jacksonville, FL just killed her baby because her baby was disturbing her 'farmville'. Obviously this is just a perfect example for what media wants, that to frame game as an evil and then somehow connect with GTA3 and then somehow connect that with rising number of murders. Obviously if you would believe statistics and the way they are presented to you, then I only can say that statistics are extremely vulnerable to manipulating.

But then, second case, really left us with no leverage whatsoever for a game-defending people. That those boys 'planned' their assault in WoW, and that Experts (from University of British Columbia, one of the leading universities in Canada) saying that their life is being 'blur' stages, and quote:

Bonnie Leadbeater: “You don’t know which aggressive kid is going to take the fantasies of video games and try them out in reality. You just can’t predict those very rare occurrences.”

I, myself, was very shaken after reading this news. I was trying to justify myself but I really couldn't. It is completely lie when people say that game is not affecting little kids. What are you folk's opinion?
